Our Sydney based client owns a successful, Independent Media agency as well as a business that specialises in global corporate trade. As part of a global network of over 16 offices, our Client is working with some of Australia's largest brands, delivering outstanding service and value to clients in Media, FMCG, Travel and Retail sectors.

We are looking for someone with a solid understanding of Management Accounting who can provide timely and accurate information to the team. You will be passionate, motivated and most importantly have the ability to form close working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
About the role
Reporting to the Head of Finance, the Management Accountant will work closely with the business to both produce and analyse the group financial results in order to provide important visibility and advice aligned to business performance.
The key responsibilities of this role will be:
Assist with the completion of month end financial and management accounting, reporting, analysis and department support
Ownership of Profit & Loss statement up to Gross Profit level
Ensuring revenue from Barter, Media and Goods and Services as well as the Cost of Sales, Cost of Trade is recorded in line with US GAAP
Tracking Media, Goods and Services inventories and associated liabilities to ensure they are in line with executed contracts
Reconciliation, query generation, recording and analysis of Cost of Sales
Assist Head of Finance and Departments with the preparation of financial cycle budgets, forecasts and rolling forecast
Oversee the generation of the Client Trade Credit Statement, identifying exposures and benefits to the company
Completing various month end reconciliations and reports as required
CMS management including Contracts, Clients and Vendor Setup
Provide accounting support to departments as required
The successful candidate will have:
A bachelor’s degree in Accounting
CA/CPA qualified or be working towards the qualification
Minimum 3 years’ experience working within a Finance team that is part of a Global Organization
Advanced level of experience using Microsoft suite of products
Experience and knowledge of US GAAP
Knowledge of Australia tax regime
Working knowledge of IBM Cognos and Peoplesoft preferred
Proven track record in understanding & clearly communicating key business goals
Strong written and oral communication skills
