About the Role

Reporting to the Senior Financial Accountant, we are looking for an Assistant Accountant where you will be responsible for a wide range of month end duties, reconciling accounts, managing payroll and preparing financial reports.

This role is a permanent full time role, where you will work Monday - Friday 8am - 4pm.

The successful candidate will have a pro-active, can-do attitude where no task is too big or too small and has the ability to work in a fast-paced team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Complete and submit BAS; FBT Returns; PAYG; Superannuation & Payroll Tax in a timely and accurate manner

  • Carry out end of month accruals

  • Balance end of month and investigate/action any discrepancies

  • Assess, update and reconcile General Ledger accounts at end of month

  • Prepare end of month reports for the Senior Accountant

  • Assist with processing of payroll - training can be provided

  • Support and mentor other team members as required

  • Assist with AP, AR, Reconciliation and all other Bookkeeping duties as required to support the team during peak periods and annual leave

  • Carry out ad-hoc duties and administrative duties as required daily

Required Skills & Experience:

  • CPA Qualified or studying towards CPA qualification is a MUST

  • Demonstrated experience in a similar role along with experience carrying out accounting functions including AP, AR, reconciliation, general ledger, processing payments, administration and data entry

  • Payroll highly advantageous

  • Strong Microsoft office skills including Word, Excel & Outlook with the ability to quickly learn in-house systems as well as fast and accurate data entry skills

  • Experience with MYOB or MYOB EXO highly advantageous

  • Excellent communication both verbal and written with the ability to build positive relationship with stakeholders

  • Highly organised, with the ability to multi-task, prioritise, be pro-active yet stay calm whilst working in a busy environment

  • Strong attention to detail is fundamental to successfully fulfilling this role

  • Work autonomously whilst being part of a team, with a flexible attitude to work in a fast paced, changing environment.

  • A clean open, manual driver’s license and have your own reliable transport

  • Positive and can-do attitude to take on additional duties
