About the Role
Reporting to the Senior Financial Accountant, we are looking for an Assistant Accountant where you will be responsible for a wide range of month end duties, reconciling accounts, managing payroll and preparing financial reports.
This role is a permanent full time role, where you will work Monday - Friday 8am - 4pm.
The successful candidate will have a pro-active, can-do attitude where no task is too big or too small and has the ability to work in a fast-paced team.
Key Responsibilities:
Complete and submit BAS; FBT Returns; PAYG; Superannuation & Payroll Tax in a timely and accurate manner
Carry out end of month accruals
Balance end of month and investigate/action any discrepancies
Assess, update and reconcile General Ledger accounts at end of month
Prepare end of month reports for the Senior Accountant
Assist with processing of payroll - training can be provided
Support and mentor other team members as required
Assist with AP, AR, Reconciliation and all other Bookkeeping duties as required to support the team during peak periods and annual leave
Carry out ad-hoc duties and administrative duties as required daily
Required Skills & Experience:
CPA Qualified or studying towards CPA qualification is a MUST
Demonstrated experience in a similar role along with experience carrying out accounting functions including AP, AR, reconciliation, general ledger, processing payments, administration and data entry
Payroll highly advantageous
Strong Microsoft office skills including Word, Excel & Outlook with the ability to quickly learn in-house systems as well as fast and accurate data entry skills
Experience with MYOB or MYOB EXO highly advantageous
Excellent communication both verbal and written with the ability to build positive relationship with stakeholders
Highly organised, with the ability to multi-task, prioritise, be pro-active yet stay calm whilst working in a busy environment
Strong attention to detail is fundamental to successfully fulfilling this role
Work autonomously whilst being part of a team, with a flexible attitude to work in a fast paced, changing environment.
A clean open, manual driver’s license and have your own reliable transport
Positive and can-do attitude to take on additional duties
